I think Facebook has almost killed my blog. I find it extremely difficult to keep up with both, particularly since Facebook seems to get in the way of EVERYTHING!
I'm have been busy thinking about making some resolutions though, none of which have materialized on paper yet thus far, so here goes.
First, I'm resolving to not be a bitch. That encompasses alot of various personality traits that could be considered very bitchy in a very bad way. My family will be so very happy. I'm not talking about getting rid of the good bitchiness, I resolve to keep that in tact. This resolution includes not being so selfish, which is the epitome of bitchiness in my book. I will listen to my family's wants and needs and do my best to balance them with my own instead of tipping the scales in my favor.
Second, I am NOT resolving to lose any weight this year. I NEED to lose a few pounds, but I'm leaving that up to my Leadville training. If I stick to any sort of training plan, the pounds should dissolve without me even being aware of it, that's the best kind of resolution.
Third, I am resolving to increase my level of intensity and specificity in my training and racing. In hindsight, this past year I enjoyed being able to race at a level probably somewhere between sport and expert with very little thought given to my training. I managed to even go home with a few podium spots during the year, but if I actually stuck to some sort of training plan and got serious about it, my performances would be so much more impressive for my age group. This is going to sound "bitchy", and in no way negates any part of resolution #1, but I resolve to NOT stop and help every person that needs help during a race, giving away all of my tools, supplies and food (yes, I do this...probably to make up for the guilt of being such a bitch in other areas of my life). I will not stand around for 10 minutes while someone uses my multi-tool to repair their bike (yeah, I really did). I will just kindly ring my bell and wish them luck, nothing personal.
Fourth, I resolve to eat better. Period.
Fifth, I resolve to dress better at work. I don't actually wear anything offensive, but since I spend so much money on "gear," I typically consider the purchasing of work clothes to be a waste of money. Now, if I didn't have this job, I would not be able to spend the ridiculous amounts of money that I do on bikes, gear, races fees, and travel. I should probably treat my wonderful job with a bit more respect, and I resolve to do just that.
Sixth, I'm going to be more vigilant in performing routine maintenance on my car. My car hauls me (and my bikes) to wherever it is that I need to go...I have generally taken better care of my bikes, but that was when my bikes were worth more than my car.
Seventh, I WILL take a multivitamin every day! Starting tomorrow...
Happy New Year! Be safe!

Great Resolutions. Are you and I secret sisters or something because we sound A LOT alike.
Quite possibly!! That's bizarre isn't it and I haven't even read your resolutions yet (headed there now). I was mostly reading your older posts and post-race reports. Right after I posted that, I decided to take my car to have it washed and detailed and the place busted my windshield and broke a front turn signal lens. WTF!!! Maybe I should resolve to let my car stay dirty!
