I went to a loosely copied version of a Cross Fit workout this morning at 5:30. I think 5:30 a.m. is too early to be up and out of the house, but because my a** is huge and my jeans are getting smaller by the day(which has really put me in the foulest of moods today), I thought I needed to add another early morning workout.
Today's workout consisted of:
25 squats (unweighted)
25 pushups (non-girly)
25 box jumps/step-ups
25 bosu ball line push ups (for these you were on and off the bosu ball as you worked your way down and back up a line of bosu balls - each "up" counted as 1)
x 4 sets.
We followed this with some core exercises and then I spent 20 minutes on the stair climber.
All in all it was a pretty good workout. I would have like to have added some weights to the squats, just to burn my quads out. They were definitely fatigued while I was on the climber, though.
So, if I do all of these workouts, Monday's and Thursday's strength class and run, Tuesday's and Thursday's a.m. Spinning classes, plus longs rides on Saturday and Sunday...why are my jeans getting smaller???? I don't keep a food log, but my meals are small, frequent and consist of a decent balance of carbs/protein/fat. I can't just stop eating because then I would have absolutely zero engergy for my workouts.
Leadville, and every race in between now and then is going to kick my ass if I can't get this stupid weight thing under control!

A very smart Kristen Dieffenbach once told me: "Focus on training and racing, and the weight issue will take care of itself". Of course, I was struggling with hysterectomy weight (abt 30 lbs), but it still applies.
Ugh...I know. I though that was what I was doing and I gained 2 lbs!!!

2lbs? You could pee 2lbs :) Don't worry about it; seriously. It could be something as easy as water gain from muscle reparation.
Cross fit gets me in shape faster than anything I've ever done. Sadly, it never made smaller, though.
