NO! Not seriously, but I am doing it. I'm actually more excited about the fact that there are going to be a couple of very inspiring pro female racers competing. It would not be totally unlike me to say f*!@-it and pull over to watch them race. I'm going to try to have some self-control and not do that though. I'm taking Friday, March 6 off work (it's my 43rd birthday) and at least four of us are going to drive down and set up camp, hopefully before dark-thirty. The extended forecast by the all-knowing weather professionals looks like it could be in the upper 60's to lower 70's...not bad camping weather. I'm going to ignore the little blurb about strong thunderstorms, because they never know what they're talking about when it comes to t-storms.
So it was 70 yesterday and I got to ride for an hour...which sucks when you're trying to train for a 6 hour race. I'm going to a spin class tonight because the sky is seriously foreboding, strong t-storms are predicted, and wind gusts are upwards of 3,972 mph! Bleh! And riding a stationary bike indoors is definitely my preferred method of training...
This weekend a group ride is planned for the Bicentennial Park trails in Neosho. They have a jazzy little 6.2 mile loop with some feeder trails that make for a nice day (ok, 3-5 hours worth, anyway) of riding. We are planning to ride despite the fact that the same weather "professional" who predicted strong t-storms for today has indicated that its going to be 33 and snowing. I've said this before, but I really wish I had a job that wasn't put into jeopardy every time I was wrong! (Though really, I'm hardly ever wrong).
My 13 year old daughter just confirmed on Facebook that she will not only be attending the Tour de Tick MTB race in April, but she will be attending it on her bike in the "juniors" category. This makes me very, very happy.

Mia, how did you get her interested in riding? Kenza would be great she just doesn't want to put in the time.
You're going to do GREAT!! I promise- it's a fun, fast, flat course with no real technical bits.
"no REAL technical bits"...what do you mean EXACTLY? ;)
Hello-
I'm writing from Global Ride Productions (www.globalride.net). We make virtual cycling training DVDs for indoor cycling. As a cycling blogger, we thought you may be interested in writing a review of our product. We are willing to send you our entire Hawaii series DVD boxed set, something we sell on our site for $75, in exchange for you writing a review. You don't have to send the DVDs back - we see giving them to you as a thank you as you help spread the word about a new company.
Our virtual cycling DVDs are different from any others you may have tried. We travel to exotic locations, have multiple coaching tracks on every DVD, licensed music, and bonus yoga, pilates or strength training sessions designed for cyclists. They're a great product and we just want to spread the word.
If you'd like to receive the set, just shoot me back a message with a mailing address and we'll get them out to you asap.
Thanks a lot. Feel free to email with any questions.
